His musicality developed when he joined the Music Band in his hometown, Nova Friburgo, at 12 years old.<\/strong> Soon after, already in Rio de Janeiro, he began working with and studying under several teachers, being in contact with great masters at the UFRJ School of Music, participating in orchestra and chamber groups practice sessions, developing his skills as a soloist. He studied under Rubens Co\u00ealho Gomes, Jos\u00e9 Carlos de Castro, Paulo S\u00e9rgio Santos, Jos\u00e9 Botelho, as well as attended master classes with many foreign teachers. Still young, at the age of 23, he joined the Paran\u00e1 Symphonic Orchestra, where he is still a solo clarinetist. With an ongoing interest in composing, he hasn\u00b4t written much in his opinion, since he dedicated his time to playing in various chamber groups, popular music, folklore groups, orchestras, but he intends to develop this aspect more and more. As a multi-instrumentalist, since the beginning of his musical training, in addition to the clarinet Marcelo plays the flute, saxophone and piano, participating intensely in the most diverse activities in music. Born in 1990, Santiago is a Uruguayan composer, <\/strong> violinist and professor of the Music program at the Federal University of Paran\u00e1 (UFPR), Rafael works on two fronts: violin learning and performance processes, and musical education, researching the formative-cognitive processes in musical development in basic and higher education. \nComposing for the theater, jingles, for various groups, teaching at music festivals around the country and around the world. Marcelo is fully dedicated to music; despite so many different activities and styles that he attends. They are all directly linked to playing, teaching or composing music Trio for Clarinet, Viola and Piano<\/strong>, written in 2018, especially for this tribute to Maestro Alceo Bocchino, on the occasion of his centenary; it has three movements, being that Saudade<\/strong> includes a melody by Bocchino himself in a nostalgic atmosphere and, like a dancing tango. Reminisces the good humor and dedication of the conductor. The second, Amor<\/strong>, dedicated to the pregnancy and birth of daughter Maya, conveying the impression of that which had not been born yet and the moment of childbirth, her strong emotions and nature, in the feminine delicacy, in the tranquility of the baby. \nhe graduated in musical composition with Harry Crowl, M\u00e1rcio Steuernagel and Felipe de Almeida Ribeiro from the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paran\u00e1 – UNESPAR. He studied with Maur\u00edcio Dottori and Osvaldo Colarusso and worked with several new musical ensembles in Curitiba. Award recipient in composition festivals at the XXII Funarte Prize for Classic Composition (2017) and at the IV Bienal M\u00fasica Hoje (2017). He presented his compositions at the MadeinNY JazzGala jazz competition at the Tribeca Center of Performing Arts in New York (2017). Recent works include the Ballet Concerto “Waters of Eden and Hades”. He is currently a postgraduate student of the Master of Music in the composition program at the School of Music, University of Missouri, Columbia, under Carolina Heredia, Yoshiaki Onishi and Stefan Freund.
\nHis compositions attempt to find the link between musical creation and cognition through specific formal uses of harmony to reveal how memory affects his perception in time. Both works are the result of the relationship with the work of Marcelo Oliveira <\/strong> and focus on how harmony acts within the listener’s memory in different ways. \u201cQuinteto um\u201d<\/strong>, with a lyrical character and continuous development, uses mathematics to create its material: modular rotations of a same series on each one of its elements, which adapts to the smoothest possible flow of their voices in polyphony. \u201cMosaico\u201d<\/strong> builds a harmonic image over a fixed color from a more recent perspective, showing different rhythms and recognizable styles.
